Peach under the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari would be restored in Balochistan, Bugti said.

TURBAT: In a notable development showcasing political unity and strategic alliances, former caretaker interior minister Sarfraz Bugti officially joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) just days after resigning from his position, a prerequisite for his participation in the upcoming general elections.

Addressing a PPP workers’ convention in Turbat, Bugti expressed his delight at entering the electoral arena with the support of PPP and highlighted the pivotal role played by respected leader Asif Ali Zardari in his decision to join the party.

The general elections, scheduled for February 8, 2024, have been a topic of concern, but the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued the polling schedule following Supreme Court orders, alleviating worries about potential delays.

Bugti, in his address, expressed hope that under the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari, peace would be restored in Balochistan, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to enhance healthcare facilities for locals. He urged the former president to consider building a state-of-the-art hospital in Turbat, akin to the one in Sukkur.

Addressing Zardari directly, Bugti pledged to make the PPP a progressive party under his leadership, emphasizing the party’s role in challenging narratives against Pakistan.

Notably, before joining the PPP, Bugti was associated with the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP). The move adds an interesting dynamic to the political landscape, showcasing the flexibility and collaborative spirit among political figures.
