Scam Alert: Govt warns public of buying and selling foreign SIMs

The authorities have warned that there are many risks to public life due to the use of illegal foreign SIM cards. There are loopholes within the system through which the use of foreign SIM cards allows fraud, data theft, and even unlawful acts.

Criminals find enormous potential in foreign SIM cards for facilitating their financial and communication fraud. Noobs trying out these methods might fall easy prey to a variety of scams.

Citizens are furthermore advised to buy SIM cards exclusively from authorized retailers, with an accompanying fullregistration done swiftly with their own name and particulars.

It has been reiterated in light of the fact that using foreign SIM cards illegally is a contravention of national telecom laws punishable with fines.

Under the circumstances, people are further encouraged to be cautious and retain their private and financial information by avoiding unregistered or foreign-issued SIMs.
