GILGIT: Amir Azam Hamza, the Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate of Gilgit, has enforced Section 144, imposing restrictions on all types of protests and gatherings on central highways, including Shahrah Quraquram and Jaglot Skardu Road, within the district boundaries for a period of 90 days.
In accordance with the notification from the district administration, police have been directed to take strict legal action, under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, against those violating Section 144. The move aims to ensure public order and safety by curbing any potential disruptions arising from unauthorized gatherings or protests in the specified areas.
