ISLAMABAD: The Senate on Thursday approved the additional clauses of the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill with a two-thirds majority, following their approval from the National Assembly the day before.
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar presented the bill, titled The Constitution (Twenty-Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2025, again today, with the tweaks to the draft earlier approved by the Upper House of the Parliament.
The amendment bill received 64 votes in favour and four against, while opposition parties, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), boycotted the session.
