PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Khurram Zeeshan has won the by-election on the general seat of the Senate with a clear majority.
According to the unconfirmed and unofficial results, PTI candidate Khurram Zeeshan secured 91 votes while opposition candidate Taj Afridi secured 45 votes.
Voting began at 9:30 am and continued till 4 pm. Provincial Election Commissioner Saeed Gul acted as the returning officer for the polling.
A total of 145 members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly are eligible to vote for this Senate seat, while a minimum of 75 votes were required for victory.
