ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s central leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has described the country’s economic situation as worrisome.
According to the details, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Yasmin Rashid, issued a statement. PTI leaders issued a message from Kot Lakhpat Jail through lawyer Rana Mudassar Umar.

Kot Lakhpat prisoners said that Pakistan had a natural advantage over India in cotton production, cotton production in Pakistan has decreased by about 50 percent in the last decade, the question is, what performance did Pakistani research stations show? Many textile mills are running at 50 percent capacity due to lack of cotton.
He further said that Pakistan was a water-rich country in the 1950s, but in 2026, Pakistan has become a water-scarce country. India has turned water into a weapon by suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.
