ISLAMABAD: Formerly a Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) ally, President Jamhori Watan Party Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti on Sunday announced to support the opposition alliance, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), against the government.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, while flanked by Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti announced his resignation from the federal cabinet.

He said the ruling party hurt people’s confidence. He said he was given a mandate of enhancing the conditions and establish law and order situation in his province. He had been time and again informing the government about issues of Balochistan, he said adding that he was told that he would be given good news on the issue of missing people.

“The government failed to deliver anything from its end. I fulfilled the responsibility assigned to me. I tried everything except for banging my head to the wall,” he said.

Shahzain Bugti said he had sought 100 scholarships and Rs50 million each for hospitals and transmission lines. If Prime Minister Imran Khan had evidence of embezzlement against the government, then he should present them, he demanded.

Whereas, Bilawal Bhutto said Imran Khan had lost trust of allies. He used the allies and did not fulfill his promises to them, he said.

“The prime minister has lost the majority. His time has end. People have recognised Imran Khan’s reality. The ‘naya Pakistan’ means inflation, unemployment and poverty,” he said. He also said that the opposition would not allow anyone to rig vote of no-confidence against the PM.

To a query, Bilawal said if an institution worked outside of its boundary then being a patriotic person it was his right to rectify the institute.
