Sindh announces closure of schools across province on August 26

KARACHI: The Sindh govt on Friday announced a holiday in all public and private schools across the province on August 26 (Monday) on account of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA).

The Sindh Education Department issued a notification stating that the decision of educational institutes’ closure was taken by a steering committee of the provincial education department.

The notification stated, “All Public and Private Educational Institutions under the Administrative Control of College Education Department, Government of Sindh shall remain closed on Monday, 26th August 2024 on account of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (R.A) (20th Safar, 1446) holiday.”

The Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA) will be observed on Monday across the province with religious zeal and reverence amid high security. The main mourning procession of Chehlum in Karachi will be taken out from Nishtar Park, which will end at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar after marching its traditional route.
