Sindh cabinet approves construction of industrial enclaves in Sukkur, Hyderabad

KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet has approved the construction of industrial enclaves in Sukkur and Hyderabad in partnership with the public sector.

According to the spokesperson, the approval was made in the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

A girls’ and women’s vocational training centre in Malakand has also been approved, along with laying of 105 kilometers of railway line from Tharkol to Chhor worth Rs. 42 billion.

According to the spokesperson of the Chief Minister of Sindh, the Sindh government has also approved the provision of a share by the Water Corporation for the repair of the Hub Dam.

The Sindh government will provide one billion rupees to the Water Corporation.

The cabinet members were briefed that the requirement of water for the DHA is 15 MGD, while it gets only 5 MGD, which is not enough.

According to the Chief Minister’s spokesperson, by laying a 36-kilometer pipeline, DHA will be able to get 10 MGD of water from Damloti.

In addition to building a pumping station, filtration plant and reservoir to supply water to DHA, the Sindh cabinet has also approved an interest-free loan of Rs 10.56 billion to the Water Corporation for the Damloti project.
