Public holiday announced on December 27

KARACHI: In a recent development, the Sindh government has declared a public holiday on December 27 to observe the 17th death anniversary of the former prime minister Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.

All public and private educational institutions will remain closed on December 2024. The education administration has issued official notification regarding the public holiday. However, the banks will be operational as per routine.

Multiple events will be organized by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) across the country to commemorate her legacy.

The main ceremony in connection with the anniversary will be held at the Bhutto family’s ancestral home Garhi Khuda Bakhsh in Larkana along with a series of gatherings, rallies, and memorial services.

Benazir Bhutto, the first female prime minister of Pakistan, was assassinated in a tragic attack on December 27, 2007.
