KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced a public holiday across the province on December 25, 2024, on account of the country’s founder Quaid-e-Aazm’s birth anniversary and Christmas.
In a notification issued on Friday, the provincial government “declared 25th December 2024 (Wednesday) as the Public Holiday on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.”
The holiday will be observed by “all offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the Administrative Control of the Government of Sindh except those engaged in essential services”.
A separate notification was also issued by the govt, whereas, a holiday was announced on December 26 for Christian employees in connection with Christmas.
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birth anniversary is celebrated annually by the nation with great enthusiasm and devotion.
The day will dawn with gun salutes in the federal and provincial capitals after which a graceful changing of the guard’s ceremony will be held at the Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum in Karachi.
