KARACHI: The Sindh government has banned the presentation of traditional Sindhi Ajrak and caps to guests in educational events in schools, according to a notification issued on Tuesday.
The notification further noted that gift distribution in provincial ceremonies has also been halted, and the school administration has been directed to stop making the students stand up to welcome the chief guests.
The notification mandates the immediate implementation of these measures.
Any violation will result in strict action against the concerned school administration, reads the notification circulated among the directors, principals, and headmasters of educational institutions.
As per the notification, the government has discontinued the gifting practice in the province’s educational institutions.
Earlier, the Sindh Education Department announced summer vacations for all educational institutions across the province from June 1 as the scorching heat continues to grip young students.
The summer vacations will begin from June 1 and end on July 31, with classes set to resume from August 2025.
The decision will apply to government and private schools and colleges across Sindh. The move is aimed at providing relief to students and staff during the peak summer months, which are usually marked by intense heat in the region.
