Sindh govt formally launches Peoples Pink taxi for females

KARACHI: The Sindh government has formally launched the ‘People’s Pink‘ and Normal Taxi Service to revolutionize the province’s public transportation system across the province.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced the launch of the two new Taxi services in a social media post on Wednesday. Memon stated the launch as a Historic Milestone for Sindh! Transport Department of Sindh, under the leadership of Chairman BBZ, proudly launches the People’s Pink & Normal Taxi Service.

This new initiative is a transformative step towards empowering women, enhancing safety, and driving sustainable mobility, Memon added.

Memon, who also leads the provincial information and transportation departments, called it a “historic milestone” and underlined the government’s dedication to creating a more contemporary and inclusive transportation system.

According to him, the province’s objective of establishing equitable chances for all societal groups is reflected in the new taxi system.
