Sirajul Haq, the Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), emphasized the imperative need for transparent elections to pull the country out of its current challenges. Speaking in Lahore, Haq highlighted that the neglect of the masses over the past seven decades by former ruling parties has led the country into a complex situation.
Underlining the significance of strengthening democracy, Haq asserted, “We will have to uphold democracy in the country instead of promoting dynastic politics.” He pledged to make the country robust enough to face international challenges.

Haq also expressed disdain for those who yielded to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), stating that they would face defeat on February 8. He criticized political opponents, asserting that the masses would no longer accept the governance of the two prominent political families, expressing confidence that voters would rid the nation of what he described as inept political leadership in the upcoming elections.
If voted into power, Haq promised that JI would establish a system of justice and eliminate usury in the country by adhering to Islamic principles. Additionally, he highlighted the clean record of JI leaders, stating that none of them were named in the Panama Papers or Pandora Papers.
