GUJRAT: A heartwarming video from the Punjab city of Jalalpur has captured the attention of social media, showing a unique mass wedding ceremony.
While mass weddings are common, usually organised by philanthropists and welfare organisations to help underprivileged families, this one stood out. Six brothers married six sisters from the same family in a simple and joyous celebration.
The families expressed their joy, saying, “We were happy to shoulder the responsibility of all our children together. Now all the children share the same in-laws, and six of them have only one father-in-law.”
The ceremony was kept modest, with many locals attending, adding to the charm of the occasion.
The groom, Kamran Abbas, and his brothers said they followed the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), who stressed simplicity in marriages.
“We decided to reject the tradition of dowry and bear all the expenses of the wedding ourselves, ensuring that there is no financial burden on the bride’s family. We are happy with our decision,” they added.
It is worth noting that a similar incident took place in Multan in December 2021, where six brothers got their six cousins married in a similar manner.
