Babar Azam breaks into ICC Test Rankings top 12

ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest Test and T20 rankings, with significant changes for several players including Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who has climbed five places to 12th in the Test rankings. Mohammad Rizwan also improved by two places to 19th.

Pakistan’s Test captain Shan Masood made notable progress, moving up 12 places to 45th. However, Saud Shakeel has dropped six places to 11th and Abdullah Shafiq has dropped two places to 53rd.

South Africa’s players have performed brilliantly in the recent Test series against Pakistan. Temba Bavuma has moved up three places to 6th, while Ryan Rickelton has jumped 48 places to 55th. Kyle Verreynne has also moved up four places to 24th.

India’s Rishabh Pant re-entered the top ten Test batsmen, moving up three places to 9th. England’s Joe Root and Harry Brook maintained their first and second positions respectively. New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal were third and fourth.

In the Test bowling rankings, India’s Jasprit Bumrah retained his top position, followed by Pat Cummins and Kagiso Rabada, who moved up two places to 11th.

In the T20 rankings, Australia’s Travis Head retained his top position among batsmen while Babar Azam moved up one place to 6th. West Indies’ Aqeel Hussain maintained his top position and dominated the T20 bowling rankings.
