Six women & shopkeeper missing after Karachi Gul Plaza fire

KARACHI: Six women who had come for wedding shopping in the third-degree fire-hit Gul Plaza building have also gone missing, including the bride.

The heirs outside the fire-hit building on MA Jinnah Road say that they and their family had gone to Gul Plaza to shop for Kausar’s wedding, but then contact with them was lost last night.

The uncles and aunts who came to search for the missing women said that four members of the same family are among the missing people. The family lives nearby. When there was no news of them till 1 am, the search began. Then, no information was received about the people who came in search of the women.

The heirs also searched for the missing women in hospitals, but they were not found anywhere, nor are their names in the list of deceased.

After the fire in Gul Plaza, many citizens are searching for their loved ones. One citizen said that the last time he spoke to his brother, he said that there is a fire, save me, I will die. Arif, a shopkeeper working in Gul Plaza, is also missing. His uncle said that Arif had said on the last call that he was fighting the fire, save me.
