ISLAMABAD: A sudden and significant increase in the prices of solar panels has emerged in the country.

The prices of imported Chinese solar panels of 585, 645 and 720 watts have increased by an average of five thousand rupees in the local markets.

After the price increase, the price of a 585-watt solar panel has increased from 16 to 17 thousand to 20 to 21 thousand, the price of a 645-watt panel has increased from 20 thousand to 24 to 25 thousand, while the price of a 720-watt panel has increased to 30 to 35 thousand rupees.

The increase in the price of silver and copper at the global level is being cited as the reason for the increase in the production cost of solar companies, which is why the price of a solar panel per watt has increased from 22 rupees to 33 rupees in the last 5 months.
