ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has announced the start of the process for the appointment of the opposition leader.
The Speaker said that after the provision of relevant documents, the process of appointing the opposition leader has now started.
The Speaker of the National Assembly read out the procedure for appointing the opposition leader in the house.
The Speaker of the National Assembly summoned the opposition members tomorrow to verify the signatures. After which, the counting of members will be carried out at 3 pm on January 14.
According to Federal Minister Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, the process of appointing the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly will be completed soon and the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly will be appointed on Wednesday.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai was elected as a Member of the National Assembly from Qila Abdullah Chaman, National Assembly constituency NA-266.
He is the head of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and is also the head of the Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Aien Pakistan, while the PTI has also given all the powers to Mahmood Khan Achakzai for negotiations with the government.
Earlier, PTI has nominated Mehmood Achakzai as the opposition leader.
