RAWALPINDI: In order to improve the traffic flow, the City Traffic Police has introduced a special traffic plan in Raja Bazaar, Gowalmandi, Liaquat Road, and adjacent areas.
The police spokesperson said that on the instructions of Chief Traffic Officer Beenish Fatima, a control room has been set up to monitor the traffic flow in commercial areas of the inner city.
The city police have also launched a crackdown against encroachments and double parking that hinder the flow of traffic and create traffic jams in the city’s major commercial center.
The police official added that due to the continuous operation of the lifter and anti-encroachment squads, the traffic flow was maintained and the public did not face any problems.
The CTO had strictly instructed the Murree Road and City circle in charge, and the sector in charge to remain in the field and ensure traffic flow in case of rush on the roads, the spokesperson said.
“The City Traffic Police is striving to provide the best travel facilities to the public and citizens are requested to follow traffic rules, park in designated areas, and act as civilised individuals,” he maintained.
