ISLAMABAD: Dr. Anoosh Masood Chaudhry, a renowned police officer, has been transferred to the federal government from her position as SSP Investigation Lahore.

This move comes after she served for over a year in the role and faced criticism from PTI leaders regarding the arrest of party leaders following the May 9 events ¹.

Dr. Chaudhry had previously claimed to have substantial evidence against the PTI founder and others involved in the case.

Additionally, her transfer was ordered by the IG Punjab, instructing her to report to the Central Police Office. The Chief Secretary also issued a notification for her to join the federal government.

As part of the reshuffle, AIG Finance Muhammad Naveed has taken over as the new SSP Investigations Lahore.

Dr. Anoosh Chaudhry has had a distinguished career, being named Lahore’s best crime fighter in 2018 and becoming the first female Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in 2014.

Moreover, she has also advocated for women’s empowerment within the police force and addressed gender-based violence.
