PESHAWAR: The Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar came under terrorist attack on Monday as the attack sent shockwaves through the KP capital with reports of gunfire and explosions coming from the heavily-secured area.
Peshawar Capital City Police Officer Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed issued a stern statement as the situation unfolded: “The FC headquarters is under attack. We are responding and the area is being cordoned off.” Nearby residents reported hearing two loud explosions, raising fears of a prolonged standoff.
The latest strike comes at a time when Pakistan is grappling with a violent resurgence of terrorism, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
