ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced the summer vacation schedule 2026 that would facilitate the seamless functioning of the court and the speedy resolution of cases.

As per the statement issued by the Supreme Court, the judges have been directed to attend courts in Islamabad on account of a longer stay in the city following a request made by the Chief Justice.

Under the new arrangement, there will be increased sitting of judicial work in the summer recess at the Supreme Court’s Principal Registry in Islamabad.

The statement noted that the period of working at the branches of the Court registries would be relatively shorter than it was in previous years. It was said that more importance would be given to the process of conducting judicial business in Islamabad.

The Supreme Court intends to make maximum use of the benches in Islamabad during the period of vacations.

According to the proposed schedule, judges of the Supreme Court would still enjoy their summer leave for four weeks.

The decision was taken by the Supreme Court to keep as many benches active in Islamabad as possible.

This move is made because the Supreme Court of Pakistan is dealing with a lot of cases, and in an effort to increase efficiency, they aim to keep their benches more available even during the summer time when they are usually less active.

It is anticipated that this move will help ensure that cases are heard faster.

This move came after the discussions about summer vacations all around the country. The education sector has just issued new summer vacation notices due to the increased temperature in many regions.
