Traffic plan announced for Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession in Rawalpindi tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi City Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic plan near Chur Chowk on Peshawar Road ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession tomorrow, here on Thursday.

As per the details, under the plan, 143 traffic officials, including four DSPs, 25 senior traffic wardens, and 114 traffic wardens, will be deployed with the support of the Rawalpindi Traffic Police.

In coordination with the district police, vehicles will be parked at a distance of 500 meters from the procession route to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow.

According to a police spokesperson, traffic will be diverted to alternative routes, with some roads closed to the public. Key closures include Dar Barshah Pyara Road, Allahabad Road, Ghazi Road, and Ashiana Chowk Mohammadabad to Progressive School Turn.

After Asr prayers, traffic coming from Peshawar towards Sadar will be diverted towards IJP Road, while traffic from Sadar towards Peshawar will use the opposite lane from Rafi Mall U-turn towards Mehrabad.

Misrial Road from Jabba Palli to Chor Chowk will also remain closed and vehicles going from Bhata Chowk to Chur Chowk will be diverted to Range Chowk via Range Road towards Qasim Market. Additional diversions will be introduced, if necessary, based on traffic conditions.

According to the spokesperson, in the second phase, traffic will be diverted from Range Road to Bhata Chowk, Golra and Shaley Valley. Chief Traffic Officer Beenish Fatima has directed the team to ensure smooth flow of traffic during the procession for the convenience of the public.
