ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced two public holidays in December 2025 for its citizens throughout the country.

These are part of the national holiday calendar of the year and include December 25 and 26. People of all provinces will observe these days as an official day off.

The public welcomed the announcement because it gave students, employees, and families time for a small break before the new year began. This two-day stretch will allow people to rest, attend events, and spend time with loved ones.

Holiday on December 25

December 25 is already observed nationwide to mark the birth anniversary of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The same date is also celebrated by the Christian community as Christmas Day. As both events fall on the same day, the whole country joins in marking this day as a full public holiday.

Holiday on December 26

The second holiday will fall on December 26. The day has been reserved specially for the Christian community to continue their Christmas celebrations and join any related events and church services. Schools, offices, and most private organizations will be closed on this day.
