WASHINGTON, D.C: In a landmark and unexpected diplomatic move, United States President Donald Trump will host Pakistans Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for lunch at the White House today on Wednesday.

According to the details, Field Marshal Asim Munir, who is currently in the US for his official visit, will have a lunch meeting with US President Trump at 10 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST) today in the White House Cabinet Room, according to the president’s daily public schedule.

According to the reports, the meeting will be closed to the press, whereas COAS and President Trump will have one-to-one talks regarding the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

The lunch has been viewed as a great diplomatic victory, especially since earlier this month, an Indian delegation held talks with US Vice President JD Vance, and Indian media had framed it as a diplomatic success, comparing it to the seemingly unsuccessful efforts of the Pakistani delegation to achieve a similar opportunity.

Field Marshal Asim MunirWhite House invite is being framed by Islamabad officials now as a diplomatic counter-narrative to those.

This breakthrough also represents a big victory for Pakistan in the current diplomatic battle that followed last monthaerial clash with India. This exchange had brought South Asia perilously close to nuclear war

It is important to note here that COAS Asim is currently on an official 5-day visit to the US, where he earlier met the overseas Pakistanis and lauded the Pakistani diaspora for their unwavering support to Pakistan.
