KARACHI: On Monday, August 19 the water supply to Karachi was disrupted due to a significant power outage affecting the Dhabeji pumping station.
The Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) reported that all pumps at the station ceased functioning as a result of the power failure, leading to the closure of all hydrants and a temporary halt in water supply throughout the city.
Moreover, K-Electric attributed the outage to a technical fault, assuring that it would be resolved shortly. Farooq Sattar has called for equal relief in electricity bills for Sindh.
Dhabeji Pumping Station, located in one of the world’s most densely populated cities, remains critical to Karachi’s water infrastructure.
