KARACHI: A heart-wrenching tragedy was reported in the Garden West area of Karachi, where the lives of two young children and a brave young man lost their lives after falling into a well.
The children, Badar and Talha, aged 10 and 12, were engaged in a game of cricket when they accidentally tumbled into a well, plummeting into its depths. In a heroic attempt to save the children, a young man rushed to their aid, but unfortunately, he too became trapped in the well.
The rescue operation that followed was fraught with challenges, primarily due to the lack of oxygen in the well. Rescue workers had to descend into the well, equipped with oxygen masks and cylinders to carry out their efforts.
Despite their valiant attempts, the operation was ultimately unsuccessful, and all three individuals lost their lives.
The community is now reeling in shock and anger, questioning the competence and response time of the rescue agencies.
Moreover, eyewitnesses have come forward, alleging that the delayed response of the rescue personnel cost the lives of the three individuals.
The eyewitnesses recounted that the children and the young man who attempted to rescue them were heard calling for help for 15 to 20 minutes before falling silent.
The young man had even tied the children together and attempted to lift them with a rope, but tragically, the rope broke.
The community has expressed outrage over the slow response from rescue personnel and the failed operation, with many believing that timely action could have saved the lives of those trapped in the well.
The incident has sparked concerns about the preparedness and capabilities of emergency services in the area, highlighting the need for improvement in response times and rescue operations
