Islamabad: Meta Platforms-owned (META) WhatsApp was down in Pakistan for thousands of users, here on Thursday.

According to the Down Detector, there were nearly 12,000 incidents of Pakistani users reporting problems with the messaging platform, which tracks the outage by aggregating status reports from multiple sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.

Downdetector data shows that more than 20,000 users in India, around 46,000 in the UK and more than 42,000 users in Brazil have also reported issues with the platform.

According to Downdetector, about 4,800 people in the United States experienced problems with Instagram.

Last month, millions of users of the global social media giant’s Facebook and Instagram were affected for more than two hours after it was shut down due to a technical issue.
