PESHAWAR: PTI founder Imran Khan’s newly-nominated Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, has been elected for the first time from PK-70.
Afridi, who hails from Khyber district, is reported to be the first Chief Minister of the region. He was previously the President of the Insaf Students Federation (ISF) in KP.
In the current government, he served as the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Communications and Information before being appointed as the Chief Minister Education Minister following a cabinet reshuffle.
Afridi holds a BS in Economics and is a businessman by profession. In the general elections, he won decisively over Bilawal Afridi of the PML-N, Hameedullah Jan Afridi of the JUI-F and other opponents.
