Karachi: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has officially declared May 28th, Youm-e-Takbir, a public holiday in recognition of Pakistan’s unyielding defense capabilities, here on Monday.
As per the details, the Karachi Matriculation Board exams were postponed and were scheduled to start on May 28, but now the federal government has declared a public holiday on Tuesday, which has worried the students.
Amid the confusion, a development surfaced online about the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, claiming that the May 28 exam has been canceled due to the Yom Takbir holiday.
New dates for matriculation exams will be announced later, as per available information.
The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) had earlier announced the new schedule for the matriculation exams, which were postponed due to the heat wave alert.
The rescheduled dates for the Class IX Islamic Studies Exam and the Class X Pakistan Studies Exam are May 30 and May 31, respectively.
The decision to postpone the exams from May 21 to 27 was taken following warnings from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has also postponed the intermediate exams for five days, with the exams now starting on June 1.
