Iconic TV star Zaheen Tahira put on ventilator after cardiac arrest

Karachi: An icon of Pakistani television screens, Zaheen Tahira is currently fighting for her life after suffering from a cardiac arrest in Karachi. The 70-year-old ‘Khuda Ki Basti’ actor was admitted to the Agha Khan University Hospital after enduring a major cardiac arrest, subsequent to which she has been put on the ventilator.

A number of insiders from Pakistan’s showbiz industry came together after the news came afloat, urging people to send love and prayers for the veteran TV star’s recovery.

She has been a veteran actor for more than three decades now, having started her career on Pakistan Television (PTV) channel from the drama serial ‘Khuda Ki Bast” in 1969. It was a hit among the TV audiences and broke records of popularity.
