Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has shared a major update regarding her ongoing complaint against a political figure, drawing widespread attention on social media and within the entertainment industry.
The Momina Iqbal complaint against the MPA became a trending topic after the actress publicly alleged that she and her family were facing harassment and threats from a Member of Provincial Assembly linked to the Pakistan Muslim League (N). The actress also claimed that her earlier complaints did not receive timely attention from concerned authorities.
Known for her performances in popular dramas including Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3, Ehd-e-Wafa, and Do Kinaray, Momina recently earned praise for portraying the negative role of Dureshehwar in Do Kinaray. Her statement regarding the alleged harassment quickly sparked concern among fans and fellow celebrities.
According to the latest development, the actress submitted an online application to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), prompting authorities to respond swiftly. NCCIA Director Muhammad Ali Waseem confirmed that both Momina Iqbal and the accused MPA have been summoned to appear before the office on May 21.
He stated that the actress had initially filed the complaint online because she was occupied with a shoot in Karachi but has now returned to Lahore for further proceedings. Officials expect the matter to be addressed after both parties record their statements.
Meanwhile, Momina Iqbal also thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for taking timely notice of the situation. Her recent social media post appreciating the authorities has also gone viral online.
