Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal is once again in the limelight as the Momina Iqbal harassment controversy is gaining momentum online. This time the actress’s sister and lawyer Rimsha Iqbal has come out to defend her family and strongly condemn the online harassment and character assassination.

Rimsha had recently spoken emotionally about the growing backlash surrounding the case in a media interaction. “Public criticism and social media narratives will never stop me from supporting my sister,” she said. “Momina and I have been trolled, attacked personally, and our reputations attempted to be damaged since the controversy came out,” she said.

Rimsha also said such pressure tactics are often used against women who decide to speak out publicly. She said many women do not speak out for fear of humiliation, social judgment, and online abuse.

The lawyer also thanked supporters who had sent him words of encouragement during the difficult period. She also issued a stern warning to those allegedly behind harassment campaigns and digital threats, saying her family would continue to pursue the matter legally, without fear.

According to reports, several women have privately approached Rimsha and said they have faced similar experiences but are reluctant to speak publicly. She said she was also disappointed that she personally had been criticized, even though she was legally representing her sister in the case.

The Momina Iqbal harassment controversy took a new turn recently when the actress reportedly approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency in Lahore over the allegations of cyberbullying, online threats, and mental harassment.

According to reports, the other side in the legal dispute has denied all allegations and filed counterclaims. However, Momina Iqbal’s team still refutes those claims and says that the actress was targeted after she distanced herself from the accused person.

The case has been widely covered across Pakistan’s entertainment industry and social media platforms with many closely watching any further legal developments.
