KARACHI: Pakistani film and drama actress Sajal Aly is set to make a comeback in Bollywood with a star appearance opposite Telugu superstar Prabhas and Imanvi in an upcoming Bollywood film, titled “Fauji”.

The much-anticipated action drama film ‘Fauji’ will be directed by the acclaimed Hanu Raghavapudi, India’s leading entertainment magazine Filmfare reported.

Earlier, debutante Imanvi was officially announced to play the female lead role opposite Prabhas in the film. Now, Filmfare reports emerged that the makers have also roped in ‘Mom’ actress Sajal Aly to essay a pivotal role. The shooting of the pre-independence fictional backdrop movie will begin on August 24 in Hyderabad.

However, filmmakers have yet to confirm the development regarding Sajal’s Bollywood comeback after nearly seven years.

Fauji is said to be a period-action drama, set in the 1940s, with the storyline about a warrior who rose from the shadows, emerging from a society that believed war was the only answer to the buried injustices and forgotten truths that history kept hidden from the world.

Director Hanu Raghavapudi has stated that the film will offer a one-of-a-kind love story set amidst historical events. Pre-production is underway, with renowned music composer Vishal Chandrasekhar already recording three songs for the soundtrack.
