LAHORE: The Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem has refused the invitation of the indian javelin star Neeraj Chopra to participate at Bengaluru Classic Javelin Throw Championship, according to media reports.
“Sources close to Arshad Nadeem said that his training and schedule for the year have already been finalised before he receives the invitation from Neeraj Chopra”, said the media reports.
Arshad is set to leave for South Korea on May 22, as the Asian Athletics Championships are scheduled to begin on May 27.
Earlier, the Indian Star has personally invited Nadeem for the Bengaluru Classic Javelin Throw Championship.
“I have sent an invitation to Arshad, and he said he will get back to me after discussing with his coach. As of now, he is yet to confirm participation,” Chopra said.
“His participation will depend on government clearance. Once everything is finalised, we’ll know the full list,” He added.
