Babar Azam dropped from Pakistan squad after poor performance against England

LAHORE: Pakistan’s former cricket captain, Babar Azam, has been dropped from the national squad following the team’s dismal performance against England in the first Test at Multan, according to reports.

Babar’s recent form has been a concern, with the batsman struggling across all formats over the past few months.

In the first Test against England, Babar managed only 30 and 5 runs in the two innings, despite favorable batting conditions. This lackluster performance seems to have sealed his fate, as the newly constituted selection committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly opted to exclude him from the squad for the second Test.

The decision comes hot on the heels of Pakistan’s defeat in the Multan Test, which prompted the PCB to overhaul the selection committee.

The new committee’s first major move has been to drop Babar, a surprising decision given his stature and experience in the team. However, his recent form has raised questions about his continued inclusion in the squad.

It remains to be seen how Babar will respond to this setback and whether he will be able to regain his place in the team. The second Test squad is expected to be announced soon, and fans will be watching closely to see who will replace Babar and how the team will fare against England in the remaining matches.
