ISLAMABAD: According to media reports, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, hosted by Pakistan, has made history by becoming the most-watched edition of the tournament ever, setting new world records for viewership.

Despite the early exit of host nation Pakistan in the group stage, the tournament garnered an astonishing 368 billion global viewing minutes, surpassing the previous record of 19% set by the 2017 edition.

With an average of 308 million viewing minutes per over, the 2025 Champions Trophy now holds the distinction of being the most-watched event in ICC history.

The final, played in Dubai on March 9, featured a high-stakes clash between India and New Zealand, which garnered massive global attention and contributed to the record-breaking figures.

Cricket analysts and fans alike are citing the increase in viewership as evidence of the game’s growing global popularity and the competitive spirit of the tournament, even in the absence of home team success.
