ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has changed the schedule of the T20 World Cup.

Whether Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals or not, the first semi-final will be played in Colombo if Sri Lanka qualifies for the semi-finals, whether the opponent is India or someone else.

The announcement sent by the ICC to all stakeholders after the completion of the Super Eights stage has explained the arrangements for the semi-finals.

According to the announcement, the first semi-final can be held in Colombo or Kolkata and this decision will be made under specific conditions.

The announcement says that if Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals, they will play semi-final one in Colombo on March 4.

If Pakistan fails to make it to the semi-finals but Sri Lanka qualifies and faces a team other than India, Sri Lanka will play semi-final one in Colombo.

The ICC also clarified that if neither Pakistan nor Sri Lanka reach the semi-finals, then Semi-Final One will be played in Kolkata while Semi-Final Two will be played in Mumbai.

If India makes it to the semi-finals, they will play in Mumbai, except when they face Pakistan, in which case the match will be shifted to Colombo.
