DUBAI: Pakistan’s renowned spinner, Noman Ali, has been crowned the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for October 2024, outshining South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner.

This prestigious award marks Noman’s achievement as the first Pakistani male cricketer to receive this honor since Babar Azam in August 2023. Noman’s exceptional performance played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s thrilling 2-1 ICC World Test Championship series victory over England in October.

The left-arm spinner claimed an impressive 20 wickets at an average of 13.85 across two Test match wins. The International Cricket Council (ICC) acknowledged Noman’s outstanding contribution in their official press release.

Expressing gratitude, Noman credited his teammates for their support, highlighting Pakistan’s remarkable comeback from an initial defeat to secure the series against England.

“I’m delighted to be named ICC Men’s Player of the Month and deeply grateful to my teammates, who helped me deliver my best performances, securing a historic home Test series win against England,” he stated.

Noman emphasized the excitement of being part of memorable victories for Pakistan. “It’s always thrilling to contribute to such monumental wins for my country,” he added, reflecting on the significance of this achievement.
