MULTAN: Pakistan blind team crowned the Blind T20 Cricket World Cup champion after beating Bangladesh in a final match at Multan Cricket Stadium.
With seven wickets lost in their innings, Bangladesh, who batted first, set a target of 140 runs.
Babar Ali led the attack with two wickets as Pakistan’s bowlers controlled the innings. With one wicket apiece, Mohammad Salman and Matiullah also helped to limit the Bangladeshi total.
In just 11 overs, Pakistan chased down the target without losing a wicket, demonstrating the clinical nature of their reply. With Mohammad Safdar supporting him with 47 not out and Nisar Ali remaining undefeated at 72, the team won by a commanding 10-wicket margin.
This victory is significant for Pakistan since it is their first time winning the Blind T20 World Cup, an event that India had previously controlled. India has won all three of its editions since its launch in 2012, defeating Bangladesh once in the finals and Pakistan twice.
Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), praised the team for their outstanding performance. He appreciated the management’s participation in the team’s achievement and thanked Nisar Ali and Mohammad Safdar for their crucial contributions in the final.
Naqvi conveyed his wish that the group would maintain the same level of commitment and accomplish even more in the future.
