BANGKOK: Pakistan defeated India 3-0 in the semi-finals of the Asian Under-16 Volleyball Championship in Thailand to book their place in the final.
In the semi-finals of the championship being held in Thailand, Pakistan completely outclassed India and completely dominated the match, not allowing Indian players to have an advantage except in the early stages of the second set.
Pakistan won the semi-final against India 25-16, 25-19, and 25-12 and made it to the final, where it will face Iran tomorrow.
However, Pakistan has defeated Iran in the crossover round.
In the semi-finals, the Pakistan team completely dominated India; the team outscored India in attack, block and serve points.
Pakistan scored 37 attack points to India’s 25. India managed 4 block points while Pakistan’s block points remained 13. Pakistan also had a 5-4 lead in service points.
Muhammad Junaid, Faizanullah, Talha Mehr and Muhammad Irfan showed outstanding performances from Pakistan. Muhammad Junaid scored 19 points, including 11 attack points, while Faizan scored 12 points, Talha Mehr and Irfan scored 7 points each.
Earlier, In a commendable performance, Pakistan defeated defending champion Iran in the Under-16 Volleyball championship.
Pakistan has won 5 consecutive matches after defeating Iran 3-1 in a thrilling match in the championship. The green shirts’ score against Iran was 25-23، 25-19، 22-25, and 31-29.
Pakistan has already secured a place in the top 4 of the tournament, where it will face India or Japan.
Faizanullah, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Junaid and Saran Baig played outstanding performances for Pakistan.
Faizanullah scored 23 points, including 21 attack points, and Irfan scored 16 points.
Overall, Pakistan outscored Iran in attack points 51-44 and block points 15-11, while Iran was better in service points.
Pakistan topped Group F of this stage by winning both matches of the crossover round. Pakistan had carried forward the points from the first round win against Korea.
