DUBAI: Indian media claims that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has conditionally agreed to a hybrid hosting model for the ICC Champions Trophy. The PCB’s agreement reportedly comes with conditions, which include adopting the same model for future ICC events in India.

The PCB insists that if India refuses to play in Pakistan, then Pakistan should also have the right to play its matches at neutral venues during events in India. Furthermore, the PCB has demanded that if India does not qualify, the semi-finals and final be held in Pakistan. The Emirates Cricket Board will share gate revenue with the PCB for matches in the UAE.

A final decision on the hosting model for the Champions Trophy is expected in the coming days.

Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stressed in Dubai that equality and fairness must be ensured in decisions. He said that we must prioritize both the development of cricket and the interests of the country. Future ICC events should follow a balanced framework.

Sources within the PCB have made it clear that Pakistan will reject the hybrid model if its conditions are not met, highlighting its commitment to fair play and mutual respect in international cricketing relations.
