PCB awards Blind Cricket World Cup winners 10 million rupees

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met the winning team of the Blind Cricket World Cup and presented them with a cheque of Rs. 10 million in recognition of their remarkable achievement.

The winning team visited the PCB headquarters at the invitation of Mr. Naqvi, where they were presented with a cheque of Rs. 10 million by the Chairman PCB. Furthermore, the PCB also met the expenses incurred during the tournament worth Rs. 20 million.

During the meeting, Naqvi praised the team’s exceptional performance and said, “The blind cricket team is truly commendable, having won all its seven matches and remained undefeated throughout the tournament.” He stressed that the PCB has worked on improving the team’s structure in a short period of time and has expressed its commitment to supporting blind cricket along with other important formats like U-19, Pakistan Shaheens and women’s cricket.

Naqvi assured the players that the PCB will continue to provide them with all the necessary support, ensuring that they have the resources they need to face future challenges. He said, “We hope to see you perform equally well in the upcoming matches and tournaments.”

He also mentioned that major events like the Champions Trophy were on the horizon, and expressed optimism about Pakistan’s success in these tournaments, saying, “We hope for Allah’s blessings as we move forward in these upcoming challenges.”

At the closing ceremony, the Chairman praised the blind cricket team’s impeccable record, saying, “Your feat of winning all seven matches and remaining undefeated is a magnificent feat. You have made Pakistan proud.”

This recognition underscores the PCB’s ongoing commitment to all forms of cricket, including the blind cricket team, ensuring their continued development and support.
