LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to assign additional responsibilities to national Test team captain Shan Masood as Consultant for International Cricket and Players’ Affairs, following his request to focus solely on his playing career.
As per details, after receiving the offer from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Shan Masood conveyed that he still has cricket left in him and wants to fully concentrate on his performance.
He expressed that it would be difficult to manage another role alongside his playing commitments, while thanking the Chairman for considering him suitable for the position.
Shan Masood thanked Mohsin Naqvi for the offer and formally excused himself from the role. Mohsin Naqvi accepted his stance, acknowledged his viewpoint, and extended his best wishes for Shan Masood’s future.
It is worth noting that Shan Masood is regarded as one of Pakistan’s most well-educated cricketers. Mohsin Naqvi was keen to benefit from his education and deep understanding of the game, which is why an informal offer to appoint him as a consultant was made earlier, with a potential appointment planned for October.
