RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will showcase a pink hue for the 30th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 between the Islamabad United and Karachi Kings on Monday, 19 May, according to a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

As part of its corporate social responsibility, the PSL is supporting the Pink Ribbon campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer, the PCB said in a press release.

In the past, the PSL held Childhood Cancer Awareness Day on 3 May in the 23rd match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore between the Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.

PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer stated, The PSL has always been a responsible citizen by raising awareness for health-related issues and supporting causes that are dear to them.

The issues around breast cancer touch many lives, and it is imperative that, as a society, we work to ensure that early detection is a priority and provide support for those impacted.

In the course of play on 19 May, Islamabad United would don specially designed pink-themed kits as the home side hosts. The Karachi Kings and match officials will all don pink caps in support of the cause. Also, throughout the match, players, match officials, coaching staff, and commentators will wear pink ribbons.

The stumps for the Rawalpindi fixture will be pink. The venue will also have breast cancer awareness messages on all digital screens and LED perimeter boards as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month the campaign will raise awareness and provide useful information about the disease.

The commentators will also be providing awareness messages as part of their live commentary. In a further partnership with Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital (DHQ), every ticket purchased for Monday’s fixture will also be a voucher for a free patient examination and screening.
