Domestic cricket tournaments to resume after ceasefire

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the resumption of men’s domestic cricket competitions after a brief hiatus due to the current situation in the country.

The Regional Intra-District Challenge Cup and Inter-District U19 One-Day Tournament will resume, ensuring that grassroots cricket remains competitive.

Additionally, the President’s Trophy Grade II, which was also affected by the postponement, will resume on Wednesday.

The tournament’s quarter-finals will be contested from May 19 to 21, with the semi-finals taking place from May 24 to 26. The tournament’s final will be place on May 28-31.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is currently working on the resumption of the Pakistan Super League season 10, which was postponed due to the Pakistan-India tension, according to media reports.

PCB is considering to hold the matches in Rawalpindi and Lahore rather than scheduling it in any other foreign country, according to the reports.

Sources in PCB told the news agency that the decision regarding the future of the tournament is set to be final within the next 48 to 72 hours.

The PCB is in discussion with all six franchises to confirm the availability of their foreign players. After confirmation, the revised schedule could be announced within a week.

The CEO of PSL, Salman Naseer, said that arrangements are being made, and I will provide full details soon. The PSL will go ahead.
