Shahid Afridi appointed brand ambassador of KPCL

PESHAWAR: Former national captain Shahid Afridi has been appointed brand ambassador of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions Cricket League (KPCL).

The league administration has announced that the opening ceremony of this new cricket event will be held on July 18 at the Peshawar Cricket Stadium, where cricket fans of the province will get a chance to watch a memorable event.

According to league officials, the opening ceremony will begin at 6 pm. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions Cricket League will also be formally launched with this ceremony. Former and current national cricketers will participate in the ceremony, while the future plans of the league will also be informed through various activities.

After becoming the brand ambassador, Shahid Afridi has made a special appeal to cricket fans to definitely attend the opening ceremony with their families. It is the responsibility of all of us to encourage young players. Such leagues provide a great opportunity for new talent to emerge and further promote cricket in the province.

He also expressed the hope that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions Cricket League will prove to be a strong platform for young cricketers. If talented players are provided with appropriate opportunities, they can make Pakistan famous at the national and international levels in the future.

League Commissioner and former captain of the Pakistan cricket team Younis Khan will also attend the opening ceremony. Apart from him, several former and current international cricketers of the national team will also be present on the occasion.

According to the administration, the complete schedule of the tournament will also be announced at the opening ceremony. Along with this, a detailed briefing will be given regarding the talent hunt trials to be held across the province, the selection process of young players and the upcoming programs of the league.
