In an unexpected yet exciting move, left-handed batsman Shan Masood has been named the captain of Karachi Kings for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season. This announcement comes hot on the heels of Masood’s recent appointment as the Test skipper for the national side.
Originally not part of the Kings, Masood joined the franchise through a strategic trade with Multan Sultans. The trade involved Masood moving to Karachi Kings in exchange for the first pick in the Diamond category, the second pick in the Silver category, and the talented left-arm wrist spinner Faisal Akram. In return, Karachi Kings acquired Sultans’ fourth pick in the first Diamond round.
This surprising development positions Shan Masood at the forefront of Karachi Kings as they aim to secure their second PSL title in the upcoming season. The left-handed batter brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team, making him a valuable addition as they embark on their campaign.
The recent PSL trades have seen notable players like Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Naseem Shah changing teams in unexpected fashion, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement ahead of the upcoming season.
In a strategic move, Karachi Kings also traded their former captain and the Player of the Tournament from the last season, Imad Wasim, with Islamabad United’s Shadab Khan.
