LAHORE: Former Captain and Star batter Babar Azam is likely to return to the T20 squad, according to media reports.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering Azam’s return amid the injury to Opener Fakhar Zaman.
Fakhar Zaman got injured in the second T20I against the West Indies, resulting in his exclusion from the last match and the Day Internationals (ODI) series.
Sources close to the matter say that Babar Azam’s return is expected for the Asia Cup and Tri-series.
However, his return shall be based on the performance against the West Indies in the ODI series.
If he manages to impress the selectors with a good performance, then there is a strong chance of his return to the team.
